Dark Tech Minimalism
Also known as Linear style, Dark SaaS aesthetic, Dark-mode minimalism
The dark, restrained aesthetic of developer tools and SaaS landing pages since about 2019: near-black grounds, grey type ramps, a neutral grotesque such as Inter, hairline borders, soft radial glows and bento grids of crisp product screenshots. Informally named after Linear's website and shared by Vercel, Raycast and many imitators, it borrows the look of code editors to signal precision and premium engineering.

01
How it works
- Set the page on near-black rather than pure black and build hierarchy from a ramp of greys instead of hue.
- Use one neutral grotesque (Inter, Geist) with tight negative tracking for headlines, and a monospace for code, labels and shortcuts.
- Light the darkness sparingly: one accent hue, soft radial glows, gradient-masked text and 1px translucent borders.
- Organise features in a bento grid of rounded tiles, each holding a product screenshot or micro-animation.
- Show the product, not illustrations: real interface, code and keyboard shortcuts carry the story.
